JourneyForYou ("JourneyForYou," "we," "us," "our," "Platform") operates the website journeyforyou.in, described as India's first travel comparison platform connecting travellers with verified local travel agencies offering treks, cultural tours, and adventure packages ("Services").
JourneyForYou acts as an intermediary marketplace: we allow independent local travel agencies ("Agencies," "Partners," "Vendors") to list and showcase their tour and trek packages with us, and allow travellers ("you," "User," "Traveler") to compare, discover, and connect directly with these Agencies to book their trips.
This Policy applies to Travelers browsing tours, registered users, and Agencies registering through our portal.
Third-Party Notice:
This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy policies used by third parties including the Agencies you connect with. Once you contact or book with an Agency, that Agency's handling of your data is governed by its own policies. We encourage you to inquire with the Agency directly before travelling.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: Name, address, email address, phone number, and password when you sign up or log in.
- Search & Booking Details: Destination, trek/tour selected, travel dates, number of travellers, and search preferences.
- Communications: Messages shared when inquiring with an Agency or contacting support.
- Newsletter Subscription: Email address provided via "Stay Updated".
- Agency Registration: Business name, contact person, phone, email, location(s) served, tour listings, and optional license details.
- Payment Information: No payments are processed by JourneyForYou. Payments are made directly to the Agency.
2. Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, search queries, and session times.
- Location Data: Approximate location (if permitted by your device) to display relevant tours.
- Cookies: Used to keep you logged in, save preferences, and analyze site traffic. Cookies are erased once you log out.
3. Information from Third Parties
Images used on the site are taken from Open No Copyright sources to promote tour agency packages. We obtain availability and booking confirmations directly from Agency websites or official social media channels.
How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your Traveler or Agency account.
- Display verified tour listings and facilitate direct communication for bookings.
- Verify agencies before granting them "Verified Agency" status.
- Send booking updates, operational notices, and optional newsletters.
- Detect, prevent fraud, and ensure platform safety under Indian law.
Sharing of Information
Our core function is to connect you directly with local Agencies. When you inquire about or book a trip, we share your name, contact details, travel preferences, and inquiry details with that specific Agency.
We also utilize trusted technical infrastructure providers to operate the Platform:
- Cloud Hosting: Cloudflare Pages
- Database: Cloudflare R2
- Auth & SQL Backend: Supabase
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for independent marketing purposes.
Your Rights & Choices
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Contact us anytime to exercise these rights.
Data Security
We use technical and organizational measures to safeguard your details. While no online transmission is 100% secure, we leverage secure infrastructure like Cloudflare and Supabase to protect your data.
